My Crazy Report from the Venice Biennale 2026
The Art Trace Edition
I Saw It All.
I Remember Almost None of the Art.
Seeing the art was only half the problem. The other half was wanting to be seen.
What happens when the desire to see art becomes inseparable from the need to be seen? Set during one frantic attempt to cover the Venice Biennale 2026, I Saw It All moves through interviews, protests, national pavilions, wet shoes, dead batteries, missed encounters and the narrator’s own ambition. Part literary reportage, part memoir and part art criticism, it enters the machinery surrounding contemporary art, where visibility becomes currency, attention breaks down and the most important thing may be the one left outside the frame.
Based on direct experience, interviews, recordings, photographs, messages and handwritten notes made during the Biennale’s preview week.
Published on 22 November 2026, coinciding with the official closing day of the Venice Biennale.
